As we get older, food becomes even more important. It nourishes us, providing the essential energy our bodies need. It also stimulates reminiscence, by tasting favourite foods or well-loved treats.
As we get older, food becomes even more important. It nourishes us, providing the essential energy our bodies need. It also stimulates reminiscence, by tasting favourite foods or well-loved treats. The simple, everyday act of sharing a meal also provides enjoyment, entertainment and an opportunity for conversation and a laugh through social engagement. Residents can choose to dine in their room, at a time that suits them, or join friends for meals in the dining room.
Fresh food is a focus at Fairfield Grange. All meals are freshly prepared and endorsed by our nutritionist, and because we all have different tastes, there’s always plenty of choice and variety on offer at each and every meal. We also listen to our residents and are more than happy to accommodate requests where we can – we’ll even happily call in a take away pizza, if you so desire!
We have traditional favourites, like roast meats and vegetables, premium beef sausages and mash, as well as modern options such as Thai-style pork, Italian ravioli, teriyaki chicken and vegetable frittatas. Fresh salad and vegetables are featured at every meal.
Of course, while healthy eating is key there is always room for dessert! From bread and butter pudding, pavlova and pannacotta to popular cheesecakes and custards, there’s plenty for sweet tooths, too.
If you or a family member are part of our community at The Residences, we’d love to hear from you so we can feature your favourite foods, too.
