About Carinity

At Carinity we believe in creating communities where you feel valued, included and secure, where your voice is heard and you are respected. “Carinity” is derived from the words “care” and “affinity”. It represents our purpose to create a space where you feel a sense of belonging.

As a not-for-profit organisation we provide communities of care, compassion and acceptance. We walk alongside people in need. Our purpose is to enrich lives irrespective of personal circumstances.

Since 1949 Carinity, formerly Queensland Baptist Care, has been making a real difference to people through comprehensive and integrated community services. We offer affordable and integrated retirement communities, care to the aged and frail, shelters for homeless youth, help for families and young people experiencing challenging times, support for people with disabilities, chaplaincy and alternative education for teenagers who struggle in traditional schools.

We’re here for you.

Our Mission

Driven by our Christian values we focus on delivering high-quality care and services. We strive to make a real difference to people in need.

Our Vision

We are committed to creating communities where people are loved, accepted and supported to reach their full potential.

Sustainability

We believe we are the first aged-care provider in Queensland, if not Australia, to commit all of its residential communities to renewable energy. This forms part of our comprehensive sustainability strategy to care for local environments and people.

What we do

Aged Care

Our friendly residential aged care communities are a home away from home for older people who are not able to live independently. As a resident you benefit from 24-hour staff support, regular social events, outings, and easy access to allied health professionals.

Carinity has 11 aged care communities throughout Queensland.

Home Care

Carinity Home Care supports seniors across Queensland to remain living independently at home. We offer a full range of services from basic support keeping you safe and healthy at home, personal & nursing care, to keeping you active and out & about in your community.

Education

Our special assistance schools offer more than an alternative style of education to youth who are at-risk. We walk with young people in need of support and encourage them to achieve their dreams. Carinity offers practical learning and life-skills training, helping to bring purpose and direction to young lives and hope for a better future.

Community Services

Our counselling services provide support and practical strategies to assist people to heal and move forward with their lives. We offer services in times of personal loss, family crisis, mental illness, abuse and neglect. Our chaplains are there to listen without judgement and provide spiritual guidance. We help more than 12,000 people throughout Queensland hospitals, aged care communities and prisons every year. We empower people with disability to engage with their communities.

Youth Support

Our youth accommodation centres are a lifeline for young people who may have experienced abuse and neglect, are disengaged from the community or at risk of homelessness.

The young people in our care feel valued. We show our youth there is hope for them to reach their full potential through counselling and practical support to find work or continue their education and training.
